Jase Hare

Known for his humour, warmth and ability to connect people, Jase has become a familiar face in the local community. Whether through Loudmouth Entertainment, his work with the Police or recently the Meridian Café in Cleethorpes, or his role as founder of the CleeW festival, Jase’s passion for bringing people together is what drives him.

Jase’s journey hasn’t been a straight line, but it’s always been rooted in community. Notably for nearly 18 years, he served in the police right here in the town where he grew up. “The police was never something I dreamed of doing as a kid,” he admits, “but I think I was raised with good morals and respect, and policing reflected that. I just wanted to be a good person doing good things.” Seventeen and a half years of policing your hometown changes how you see the world. “I’ve seen the best and worst in people,” he reflects, “but I still have a huge affection for the job and for the people I worked with. They’re phenomenal human beings who often get unfairly judged because of a few bad examples.” It’s clear that Jase’s sense of service hasn’t gone anywhere—it’s just evolved. Where once he worked to protect the community, he now focuses on bringing it together.

When asked what Grimsby means to him, Jase doesn’t hesitate: “Home. And home is where the heart is.” What he loves most about the area is the way people rally when it matters most. “That kind of spirit is something I’m really proud of,” he says. “I’d just love to see our town get more positive attention nationally because there’s so much good here that deserves to be seen and celebrated – not just when we beat Man Utd!”

After leaving the police, Jase took a bold leap into the world of weddings and events. “Being an alternative wedding celebrant and event planner is scary but super exciting,” he says. “Surely it can’t be as hard as closing traffic on Peaks Parkway single-handedly!” Loudmouth Entertainment, the creative company he co-founded, is all about doing things differently – bringing personality, humour, and authenticity to life’s biggest moments. “I love helping couples do things their way,” he explains. “If you want Foo Fighters lyrics in your wedding service, why not? You absolutely can.” With plans for more quirky events at the Meridian Café and beyond, Jase’s next chapter promises to be as lively as ever.

One of Jase’s proudest projects is CleeW – a VW enthusiasts’ club that has become one of the region’s most socially conscious community events. “CleeW stands for Cleethorpes + VW,” he explains. “When we bought a campervan, we realised other towns had festivals like this, but ours didn’t – so instead of moaning, we made one!” CleeW Fest, held each July at Meridian Showground, has grown rapidly thanks to the community’s support. Jase laughs remembering its beginnings: “I literally rang my mate Joe one day and said, ‘I’ve booked the showground – we’re throwing a festival. Bye!’ before he could say no.”

But behind the fun, CleeW has serious heart. The event champions accessibility and inclusivity – offering affordable family fun, tackling social isolation, promoting sustainability, and supporting mental health. From EV showcases and green energy talks to live music and local business networking, CleeW Fest is all about creating positive connections. “Every part of it has a community purpose,” Jase says. “It’s about people coming together, enjoying themselves, and doing good in the process.”

After a few difficult years personally, Jase’s perspective on life has shifted. “As long as my son is happy and healthy, my family are well, and my friends are cool – I’m rich,” he says simply. “Losing people close to you really makes you realise what matters.” His hopes for the future reflect that grounded optimism. “I want to see Grimsby and Cleethorpes step into the national spotlight for the right reasons – as places full of talent, heart, and progress. We’ve got everything we need to change perceptions and lead the way in what small towns can achieve.”

Whether he’s hosting a wedding, planning a festival, or brewing up ideas at Meridian Café, one thing is for sure – Jase Hare is helping to shape a more vibrant, connected, and positive future for Grimsby. And he’s doing it with a smile, a laugh, and probably a bit of mischief along the way.
